Seasons 4 Success (2006-2010)

Seasons 4 Success improved students' reading achievement scores.

Seasons 4 Success is a truancy grant from the Somerset County Local Management Board through the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention.

The Seasons 4 Success After School program targets middle school students and is designed to improve school attachment by improving the reading skills of ‘at risk’ students. In the first year, 18 of the 20 students improved their reading skills between 10-35%, as measured by Kumon research-based reading placement tests. This program has had phenomenal success, and was featured on the Governor’s Office for Crime Control and Prevention (GOCCP) website under Promising Practices!

Our Seasons 4 Success Program had 3 students on the Principal’s honor roll for the 1st time, 2 students achieving credit roll for the 1st time, and 2 students who went from all ‘E’s to ‘A’s, ‘B’s and ‘C’s. One student went from virtually not reading, to reading newspapers, books, signs, etc.

The Seasons 4 Success Summer Program, designed for youth of all ages, exceeded its capacity of 35. Instead, 56 students were enrolled, and a waiting list was maintained.
